On Feb 22, 2020 the Chrysalis Project sponsored an African Dance workshop facilitated by Audrey Davis Dunning. The workshop was held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield NJ in honor of Black History Month. Eleven high school girls were in attendance. The program served as an introduction to the dance, culture and rhythms of West Africa and was accompanied by live drumming. Prizes were awarded for trivia questions answered and each participant received an African dance skirt called a “lapa” as a memento. A good time was had by all. - Patrice Simms - Coordinator
